GP trainees Amsterdam UMC

Huisartsenpraktijk Schoterpoort is an accredited training practice of the University GP Institute and the basic medical training programme of Amsterdam UMC. The GP trainees have been qualified doctors for some time and usually have several years of experience working in hospitals and general practices.

GP trainees are trained in the practices of Louwet and Steketee; they are in the first year of their training. As of 1 March 2026, these are Jesse Holverda and Lazin Germawi. In the practices of doctor Louwet and doctor Steketee, junior medical students also complete a short two-week placement once a year.

Since March 2026, I have been working as a GP trainee (HAIO) at Huisartsenpraktijk Schoterpoort under the supervision of GP M. Louwet and GP M. Moes. Before starting my GP training, I worked as a junior doctor at various healthcare institutions: I started at a GP cooperative in Amsterdam, then worked at the hospital in Aruba, and finally returned to the Netherlands to work in addiction care at Jellinek in Amsterdam. I enjoy a varied working environment and believe I can find this in general practice. I practise my profession with patience and an attentive ear. And with a smile whenever possible. I look forward to meeting you during the consultation.

Interests: In my free time, I prefer to be outdoors as much as possible and together with family and friends. I exercise quite a lot (running, cycling), I love cooking and enjoy long dinners. I also like travelling as much as possible and enjoy visiting a museum or cinema.

Lazin Germawi

My name is Lazin Germawi and I am a GP trainee. In recent years I have gained experience across several specialties, including radiology and orthopedics. I have also worked as a triage nurse at the GP out-of-hours service, where I learned to assess a wide range of medical questions and speak with patients by phone. What appeals to me in general practice is the combination of medical content and personal contact. I find it important not only to look at the complaint, but also at the person behind it. Building a good relationship with my patients matters to me, so we can look for suitable care together. I look forward to meeting you at the practice.

Interests: In my free time I enjoy running, painting, cooking and reading. I also have a strong interest in social and political topics. Outside work I love spending time with my family - together with my husband and our little son I enjoy the small, beautiful moments.
